Aside from "Freddies Shack", #4 in this series, the remaining 11 works are lookalike renderings of well-known personalities. Mr. Skelton didn't say who they are, but rather leaves this to the viewer's imagination. However, who they are is generally agreed, as follows: (1) REDSO - Red Buttons. (2) JOEY - Henry Fonda. (3) SWAMI - Red Skelton's life-time friend and teacher, in his eighties; still teaches clowns "How to be clowns" for Ringling Bros. clown school. (4) FREDDIE'S SHACK - Red's Freddie (a cartoon version). Showing Freddie outside his shack. (5) MAJOR - Art Carney. (6) CLOWN'S CLOWN - Carol Burnett. (7) RODEO - Henry Fonda. (8) ELEGANCE - Sandy Duncan. (9) TIMMY - Shirley Maclaine. (10) LORD 'ELP US - Jackie Gleason (11) YELLOW CLOWN - The old-time vaudervillian, Ed Wynn. (12) WEE WILLIE - Judy Garland.

This series reflect Red's wide, varied range as a clown artist. His recognizable Freddies are here in varied situations: As "THE GENT", "THE PHILOSOPHER", "FREDDIE IN THE TUB", wearing "THE NEW STETSON". A younger Red Skelton is also recognizable: As "THE CHEF", "CLEM KIDDLEHOPPER"--also in "CLOWN WAGON", "THE PLEDGE", and as one of "THE ESCORTS". Plus, completing the series, "CHRISTMAS AGAIN", "BALLOON MAN", and "DINNER TIME" are excellent examples of his versatility as a clown artist.

(1) FREDDIE'S KITTY CAT - The kitten in this piece belonged to Mrs. Skelton. (2) FREDDIE'S BIRTHDAY - Charming and amusing. Here, Freddie celebrates his birthday with a slice of birthday cake held on a trowel, with a match "stuck on" in lieu of a birthday candle. (3) AMIGO - Freddie as a "Mexican Amigo". (4) CRAZY QUILT CLOWN - Many deem this to be a lookalike clown rendering of Lucille Ball.

(1) FINANCIER - One of Mr. Skelton's most popular artworks. Tells a charming, humorous story of Wall Street. (2) TOUCHDOWN - Shows Freddie in football regalia, scoring a touchdown with football over the goal line. Freddie has a happy expression, having scored this touchdown--even though opposing players are stomping "hard" onto his neck. Note Freddie's unusual football helmet: A pot with handle! (3) SUNDAY AFTERNOON - Showing Red's "Clem" dressed in Sunday finery, posed in front of typical country farmhouse, with typical white picket fence around the open field, and with rooster perched on this fence. I like to think this rooster is silently crowing. This work reflects Red's roots. He was born on a farm in Indiana. (4) HOLD THAT TIGER - Smile-provoking. Shows Freddie posed holding tiger in front of the NG circus, which stands for the NO GOOD CIRCUS.

(1) THE WOOD CARVER - Showing Freddie selling his wood carvings (birds, a fist) with sales sign on dilapidated fence behind him. (2) I LOVE YOU - Humanly warm. This is much like a self-portrait of Red with a touch of Clem Kiddlehopper as well. The warmth of the piece exemplifies the human element, with Red's fingers extended in sign language signifying "I LOVE YOU" (3) OLD GLORY - This charmer is an up-to-date political statemanet by Red--for it shows Freddie holding the American flag--and he is going to protect it from burning with a fire extinguisher "at ready" under his arm. (4) STRINGING ALONG - Again, Red didn't commit himself as to whom this clown rendering represents, leaving this to the viewer's imagination. However, the majority opinion of those viewing the piece seems to be that this could be a lookalike rendering of Lucille Ball as a clown.
